MARIA ADELMANN ‘07

I found my first Public Journal by accident in a very small crevice of a very large building. I read it immediately. As a Cornell English and psychology major with an affinity for design, I was thrilled to see writing and secrets sharing such well-organized space. Like many before me, I soon wrote Jonah and Dylan an embarrassing email praising their journal (in fact, many embarrassing emails followed that first one). After awhile, I started working on little design details for the covers and whatnot. When Jonah and Dylan sadly left Cornell, I accidentally became Editor-in-Chief with Erin Geld, who was really first in command (and very good at it, too!). Now that I've graduated, I work for The Man (sometimes, I am The Man) doing visual merchandising at the corporate office of clothing retailer Steve & Barry's. This affords me the opportunity to learn all the Adobe programs that I struggled with in my PJ days. I'm also writing, on the side, and hoping to get a few little stories out there in the wide-world soon.
