We will kiss you on the electric face. * ELIEN BECQUE ‘08 I came across the Public Journal as a freshman because I had a crush on the guy doing art, who was friends with Daniela . . . there was a meeting in the common room of some Tufts house and I was impressed and intimidated and excited all at once. I think I wrote something embarrassing about lesbian sex for the inaugural issue at Tufts (I'm not, in fact, a lesbian), and thus commenced a long and happy affair—when Daniela and Jordan were abroad, Benji and I took over for a semester and now I am back from abroad and happily in charge again with a wonderful arts editor and roommate (Sarah), and our lovable PR person/gorilla suited creative engine H.B.—we have SO much fun, and love feeling all exclusive when people get mad that the PJ doesn't need 20 more editors . . . though I've got this impression we are pretty under the radar, anytime I mention the PJ people say, "Oh I love the Public Journal!" which is lovely. As is our next issue—which is coming out this week . . . (Ed.—uh, a few weeks ago. I'm getting to this late.)
