DYLAN GREIF ‘06

Dylan Greif was a nice kid. So nice, a girl in his freshman dorm hall once called him “an angel.” But Dylan was no angel. Sometimes, Dylan had nonangelic tendencies like saying the work “f**k” and going to “str*p cl*bs.” (Ever since, he has done the former, but not the latter). Anyhow, the more people thought Dylan was an angel, the more his passions were repressed. The Public Journal offered him a chance to let loose, feel comfortable speaking a different language—a language his quiet mind was so inclined to speak! Sometimes, you just want to let loose on the dance floor, go crozo, instead of just bobbing your head and snapping your fingers, am I right? But it’s not so easy being yourself when people are expecting something different. I’ve always believed expectation is the strongest invisible force in the world. I mean, so has Dylan. The Public Journal was a lovely little response. Since graduating. Dylan has gone on to do many nice and not so nice things, including becoming a book designer and then quitting.
