ANDREW HASTINGS-BLACK ‘08

I've always felt that creativity, spontaneous creativity is the best medicine. The PJ is the only publication I’ve ever met that attempts to capture and publish the moment of creation or thought or emotion. I guess we never know which submissions are honest and which are not, but it makes me feel fuzzy inside to read the rawest, deepest secrets that people can muster, the things that need to be shouted from the top of a very tall building with a massive cheering crowd below. My first submission to the Public Journal was an epic catharsis, I spilled out something that I thought I couldn't share with anyone, heaving it off my chest for the world to see. And I never looked back.
